Introduction to the Department

Entrepreneurship has grown in popularity in various economic and social sectors. To exploit new business or technology opportunities, entrepreneurs typically combine risk, ownership, and management. However, such initiatives can be seen in corporate, social, public, civic, community, and small companies’ contexts to maintain competitive advantage, uniqueness, and novelty.
Therefore, in today’s rapidly changing world, the ability to adapt to changes and seize new opportunities is more important than ever. With the emerging technologies in our global society, there is a need for global tech entrepreneurs who can effectively approach the problems of the 21st century as global leaders and expand their skills and expertise in modern technologies and set up their innovative careers. Thus, to cultivate professionals in this field, Master of Arts in Global Techno Entrepreneurship is a program that prepares students to launch their own ventures that can solve global challenges and offers dynamic international careers.

The Goals of Education

The Global Techno-Entrepreneurship program within the International Graduate School is designed to give in-depth knowledge and understanding of societal issues that could be solved with the help of brilliant ideas and innovative technologies. The curriculum in this program enables students to either make a career chance directly into innovative ventures or to return to the field with the necessary frameworks and skills. This major is also suitable for those who are taking private equity or management consulting into consideration or those entering small and medium-size firms with strong growth potential. With the high demand for global tech talent.

Curriculum

  • Technology Essentials

    Students will gain an overview of information technology and systems as they apply to entrepreneurship, business, and other disciplines in this course. They'll learn how to design simple websites, user interfaces, and other mobile apps, as well as technical literacy and competencies in programming languages like JavaScript, HTML, and SQL. Students will have the opportunity to learn about advanced and applicable technologies that are easily available to entrepreneurs.

  • Understanding Big Data

    To give a comprehensive understanding of big data and its usage to our students in order to make better decisions for their future businesses/startups. The analysis of big data reveals the current and future trends in different industries with practical examples. In this course, students get exposure to the usage of big data in advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence.

  • Entrepreneur Strategy Seminar

    This course is designed to help prospective entrepreneurs convert their business ideas into profitable venture companies by providing step-by-step guidance. This course will provide an overview of basic entrepreneurial concepts, abilities, mindsets, tactics, and strategies for successfully launching a business venture in a competitive market. In a seminar setting, students are required to present their actual business plans. Where they demonstrate their business ideas into reality. In this course, students are trained to do in-depth industrial and environmental analysis.

  • Creativity and Innovation in Business

    Through this course, students will be exposed to different global case studies on market leaders and innovative startups in various industries to be able to investigate strategies and operational changes needed to make data analytics important to global techno entrepreneurship. Students will be able to integrate these strategies and innovations into their business plans. They will be able to learn how to leverage big data in the broad digitization of global business.

  • Managerial Finance

    This course introduces students to the world of modern finance, especially to the financial operations of the business. It covers the concepts of the time value of money, asset valuation, risk and return paradigm, capital budgeting, financing, and payout decisions, and derivatives. This course aims for students to learn how they can manage to create value in the corporation/institution and how they can make sound decisions as future financial managers.

  • Global Techno Business Strategies (Fintech)

    Students will be exposed to current global financial techno business trends through this course, giving them the opportunity to devise inventive solutions for dealing with various scenarios. They will learn how to make great financial decisions using global data. They'll learn from previous global financial crises. Students will also discover block chain technology and cryptocurrencies and their usage in the modern financial-tech industry.

  • Startup Finance

    The goal of this course is to teach students from a range of backgrounds how to secure and manage capital for new ventures. Students will be able to create, execute, and monitor a financial strategy for a new initiative, whether it is in the context of a new firm or an existing organization, using the knowledge gained. The financial planning process, financial reporting, sensitivity analysis, sources of finance, forms of finance, financial market innovation, and the relevance of various finances to entrepreneurship are all covered in this course

  • Research Methodologies

    The goal of this course is to increase students' knowledge and comprehension of the function and implementation of quantitative and qualitative research methods. As part of their professional practice, students will be able to review and conduct methodologically competent research. Students learn to recognize and reflect on the strengths and limitations of various research approaches, comprehend the connections between theory and practice, critically evaluate research, and address ethical and practical challenges. During this course, students will draft research proposals for their master’s thesis.

  • Data Analytics Application

    This course is aimed to teach advanced data analysis techniques using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) software. Students will study data analysis strategies for social science research in this course. They look at how statistical analysis software like SPSS may be used to manage and analyse data. Students get hands-on experience with the SPSS program's various features, such as database architecture, quantitative and qualitative format options, data entry, data import, and export function, performance, and graphics functions.

  • E-Commerce

    All forms and sizes of companies and organizations are rethinking their approaches and how they are conducting their business operations. This course will train students from a marketer viewpoint to discuss the complexities and consequences of internet business (e-commerce). The e-commerce markets are analyzed for business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B). The course introduces students to a wide range of markets' electronic commerce problems, as a framework for continuous learning in the competitive e-commerce world.

  • Financial Accounting

    This course will educate students the fundamentals of financial accounting so that they may fully grasp the financial matters of a corporation. The recording of transactions, ledgers, trial balance, income statement, and balance sheet will be covered. Students will be able to critically assess these financial statements at the end of this course. The conceptual framework; accounting standards; the accounting cycle; financial statements; internal control and bank reconciliations; short-term investments and receivables etc. will be covered.

  • International Business

    This course gives information on methods and practices for identifying and interpreting international business prospects. Students will do research on international business and related tactics. This course uses international business theory and practice to help students grasp the international business setting. Its goal is to offer students with practical tools and academic understanding about international trade, as well as to investigate practical difficulties confronting business managers in international business circumstances.

  • Digital Marketing

    The new, fast-paced, high-tech world requires changes to traditional marketing strategies. The class will explore a range of industries and contexts and their diversity. Also, This course cover strategies of digital marketing from the setting of organizational goals and methods through research, advertisement, delivery, and production activities. Students examine the international similarities and differences in marketing functions related to environmental, cultural, economic, political, social, and physical dimensions. They learn about, SEO, PPC, SMM, and email marketing strategies.

  • Social Entrepreneurship

    This course is designed to provide a socially relevant academic experience to help students gain in-depth insights into economic and social value creation across several sectors/areas including poverty alleviation, energy, health, and sustainability. Through case studies, lectures, and classroom dialogue, students will learn to think strategically and act opportunistically with a socially conscious business mindset.

  • Innovative Brand Management

    Brands are strategic assets that can provide entrepreneurs with a sustainable competitive advantage. How to achieve this is the central theme of Innovative Brand Management. Students will be taken through concepts such as the development, launch, and naming of new brands; brand and line extensions; life-cycle management, rejuvenating and retiring brands; brand architecture, multi-brand portfolios, brand alliances, and co-branding; international branding, standardization, and globalization; corporate and employer branding; brand metrics and audits.

  • Public Entrepreneurship

    This course is founded on the idea that there is a great opportunity for providing value and solving large public challenges. It is intended for students who want to start or join private startup companies that sell to (or around) government to solve public problems; students who want to be extreme innovators within government; and students who want to lead in various parts of the connected ecosystem, such as investors, advisors, and so on. Students will be able to comprehend the application of modern technologies in policy decisions.

  • Global Business Communication

    The course is experientially based, and students will learn the interpersonal and organizational communication skills they need to be successful in global business settings. Using a variety of teaching methodologies, including regional/country studies, visual aids, case studies, self-assessment and experiential activities, the course will focus on intercultural communication, managing culture shock, global business etiquette, negotiating in an international setting, and repatriation. The course will provide a theoretical and practical basis for conducting effective global communication.

  • The Business of Venture Capitalism

    The techniques and methods used by venture capitalists to evaluate, structure, and value entrepreneurial enterprises will be covered in this course. It is primarily geared toward students interested in corporate or entrepreneurial finance or entrepreneurship, with a focus on students who want to work in venture capital or other private equity organizations. The course focuses on the major financial and operational tasks of venture capital, which are: identifying possibilities, valuing ventures, negotiating and structuring investments, managing investments, and exiting.
