Introduction
In order for enterprises to survive by adapting to the changes in the business environment, their management activities and production activities must be intricately linked, and this requires experts who are capable of performing such tasks. In response to such needs in our society, the Department of Industrial Management Engineering strives to produce engineers with the ability to solve problems from the engineering perspective and business intuition so that the industrial system can be optimized as a whole. Specializations include Systems Engineering (production control, manufacturing engineering, information technology, etc.) and Business Management Engineering (quality control, management science, human engineering, safety control, etc.), and students are taught theories and given opportunities to develop the necessary skills to use various tools in the field.
Educational Objectives
The department fosters talents with the practical skills to lead the information age and contribute to industrial development in addition to having engineering skills and a business-oriented mindset with the following objectives:
- Provide practical education to turn students into professionals who can ensure comprehensive and efficient management of human resources, materials and equipment and strengthen the competitiveness of the business
- Cultivate expertise in system analysis, design and engineering, installation and management based on creative thinking
- Cultivate skills to solve problems from the management engineering perspective to raise the efficiency of system management and strengthen leadership
- Instill an attitude to fulfill social and ethical responsibilities in relation to their research outcomes, pursue lifelong personal development, and maintain an open mind and critical thinking
Program Characteristics
- 1The master’s degree program is a two-year program consisting of four terms (special graduate school), while the doctorate program is a three-year program consisting of six terms (general graduate school). Students in the master’s degree program can obtain their degree by acquiring credits in place of a thesis.
