Introduction
Real estate studies is an area of social sciences that pursues comprehensive and actual research on various human living environments such as land, housing including apartments, office buildings, commercial buildings and factories. The Department of Real Estate Studies aims to foster real estate experts who are capable of accurately identifying real estate phenomena and making rational decisions related to real estate activities by providing them with systematic education. The doctorate program of the Department of Real Estate Studies at Namseoul University has been established with three specializations: Real Estate Development, Real Estate Management and Real Estate Finance. The curriculum consists of courses on redevelopment and reconstruction theories, overseas real estate development, project financing, real estate e-commerce theories, real estate auction theories, real estate securities theories, financial asset management theories, real estate finance laws, appraisal, planning theories and so on. With a systematic curriculum, the department makes it possible for students build a solid knowledge base as real estate experts based on theories as well as various field case studies and seminars that combine theory and practice.
Educational Objectives
- The Real Estate Development Specialization Program nurtures developers with creativity and insight who can grasp the interrelationships among different tasks as well as knowledge in various areas required for real estate development.
- The Real Estate Management Specialization Program cultivates experts who can comprehensively manage real estate properties so as to maximize operating profits based on a thorough analysis of customer assets as investment assets.
- The Real Estate Finance Specialization Program, which is aimed at nurturing experts in global real estate finance, cultivates the best global real estate finance experts who are capable of adapting to the external shocks of the globalization of the real estate market.
